Choose the right format for the right job. JPG is small and universal for photos. PNG is lossless and supports transparency. WebP is a modern format that combines small file size with transparency support. All conversions run in your browser — no uploads, no sign-up.

For most photos and screenshots you share with people, JPG is still the safest choice. It is supported everywhere and produces small files. The trade-off is lossy compression, which causes a small quality drop.

PNG is the right pick when you need transparency, sharp edges or repeated edits without quality loss. PNG files tend to be larger than JPG, especially for photos.

WebP is the best modern format for the web. It is roughly 25–80 percent smaller than the equivalent JPG or PNG at similar visual quality, and it supports transparency. The only catch is that some older or non-web tools still don't accept it.
